Variations
- 2kaligitē – kalgitē
- 4tōcenā – tōcunā
Commentary
- 1kari dhanamulu – Going by the example of Prahlada given in the Charana, it seems Sri Thyagaraja is ridiculing the Lord that He protects only those who are well-to-do.
- 3nirjara-vairi-baluni - This compound means "the asura's son". nirjara refers to those who do not age (meaning, dēvas); vairi means enemy.
