Happily behold, O friends,
the exceeding grace of Yamuna Devi!

What reddish lotuses!
And, what a sweet humming of the bees thereon!

isuka dinnelenta telupē mēnu
indra-nīlamuvaṇṭi nalupē (cūḍarē)
What white sand banks!
And, what a sapphire-like dark body of the river!
3.
mēṭikalu vajrampu śilalē andu
kuṭilamaina cinna yalalē (cūḍarē)
The steps (of the ghat) are indeed diamond stones!
And, what curly little waves thereon!

haṃsala ravaḷicē cāla dēvi-
yadigō celaṅgenī vēḷa (cūḍarē)
Behold! Together with calls of swans,
how nicely shines Yamuna Devi now!

polatulāra podariṇḍḷē tēne-
loluku kharjūrapu paṇḍḷē (cūḍarē)
O Maids! What a bowers!
And, what nectarine date palm fruits!

phalamucē drākṣa latalē andu
paccani cilukala jatalē (cūḍarē)
What grape vines with bunches of fruits!
And, what pairs of green parrots thereon!

vinta vinta virulu vāna madi-
kententō marulayyanē (cūḍarē)
To the mind, how much desire arousing
is the shower of variety of flowers!

kōkilamulu mrōsenē maruḍu
kusuma śarambulēsenē (cūḍarē)
There, the koels are cooing and
Cupid is shooting shafts of flowers!

callani malaya mārutamē kṛṣṇa
swāmini kūḍunadi satamē (cūḍarē)
There, the wafting of cool gentle breeze!
And, certain is our meeting Lord Krishna!
10.
rāja vadanalāra kanarē
tyāgarāja sakhuni pāṭa vinarē (cūḍarē)
O Moon-faced ones! Behold!

  2. Chudare chelulara (Kamavardhani): They arrive at the banks of the Yamuna
  3. Adavaramella (Yadukulakambhoji): The Gopis indecisively contemplate a boat ride with Krishna. He urges them to get going.
