In my mind, I have fallen in love with You alone, O Lord reclining on Sesha – the snake; You condescend to speak to me pleasantly without taking note of my faults.

nirupama śūra nikhilādhāra
1para kāminī dūra pāpa vidāra
sarasija nētra śyāmaḷa gātra
vara tyāgarāja hṛd-vārija mitra (callaga)
O Peerless Hero! O Prop of the Universe! O Lord who is unapproachable to other (amorous) women! O Lord who destroys sins! O Lotus Eyed with dark-blue hued body! O Blessed Sun who blossoms the Lotus of the heart of this Thyagaraja!
